I wrote the letter below to Steve Perry the day before my accident that has left me paralyzed. The letter was returned as no such address and my sister gave it to me in the hospital. I hope somehow this story gets to him.
I was waiting in the Hyatt’s hotel lobby in Cincinnati, Ohio and had this large camera on my shoulder. When I finally saw him, I was so awestruck that I totally forgot about the camera and my mouth just hung open. He walked by the crowd and just as he stepped into the limo, he walked back in towards me and told me since I did not take any pictures of him, he would autograph anything I wanted. I couldn’t speak for a few minutes as he were standing in front of me. He signed everything for me, talked to me for about 15 minutes, and when I told him I had front row (by standing outside for 2 days for tickets), he told me I was crazy.
When I saw him on stage, he sang Lovin, Touchin, Squeezin and looked at me alot. I know it was nothing personal, but never the less, it was flattering. All of my friends still talk about it.
So thank you for making me feel special that day, and giving me one of the best memories I will ever have.
