i saw him in 1995 in the aladin hotel here in vegas where i live ..
it was so good .. i was sitting in the 398484 row and i hated it . and when
they announced Steve Perry ..... GOD TOOK OVER ME in vegas you see there are
ALWAYS empty seats in the front incase any HIGH rollers decide they want to
see a show ... i took my 8 year olds hand and immediate -- seeing red --
headed for the front .. we carefuly snuck down to the 2nd row .... steve was
ready to come out OMG all i knew that if i could only sit there for ten
seconds it was worth it .. the row was empty~!! although the rest of the
place was sold out -- a security guard saw me as he guarded the stage .. he
came over to me "let me see your ticket please" i showed him the ticket for a
seat a mile away .. he said "mam you cannot sit here" i told him "you don't
understand i have to sit here nobody is sitting here if anyone comes i swear
we'll leave" the crowd was screaming and yelling like CRAZY he was due out
any second~!*!* "mam you can't sit here" he reached for his radio to call
someone to help him move us" i was dying my heart was melting -- i had to ..
just HAD TO see steve from that spot at least for a second~!*!* at that
moment STEVE CAME OUT ~!*!*!* OMG :::im getting goose bumps now::::: a girl
rushed the stage ... where the security guard had been standing -- he turned
his head .. and stepped back to stop the girl .
QUICK i grabbed my son in his
SanFranciso ball cap i had him wear for steve :-) we slid down to the left
about 10 seats .. hiding down below the front row .. steve started singing
ANYWAY YOU WANT IT .. OMG were were dying .. and the guard had lost track of
me .. as i sat singing real loud i was the ONLY person in that place sitting
but i was not going to be seen by that guard again LOL ... after a few songs
.. steve in a T shirt and jeans .... smiled joked and told a few stories and
sang every song we remember -- then ... from the rafters came down a hanger
with a coat with tails on it ... steve yells NO NO NO NO NO WAY am i putting
that on~* I'm too old~!*!*!* we screamed YES YES YES YES we wanted to see him
-- like we had so many times in the 80's dance around with that coat/tails on
... he said NO and the hanger rose ... back toward the rafters -- we all
BOOOOOOO BOOOO BOOO'd so loud .. he said WAIT .. "lower it" it lowered and we
cheered and screamed SO LOUD ... he said ..... "raise it" we BOO BOO BOOOOO'd
.. so he said .. "only on ONE condition" .. we all cheered ~!*!* "only if the
ladies repeat after me" .. we screamed ~!*!* he said "ladies ....... stevie
... we missed you~!!" we yelled so loud you could have probably heard us at
the hoover dam ~!* 'STEVIE WE MISSED YOU" the coat came down he put it on and
BAM~*!!*~*!!* he started dancing around like he used to and went into LINE OF
FIRE
OOOHH IT WAS A HOT AND STEAMY NIGHT ~!*!*!*
oooooooOOoooooOooooOOooooOoooooooOOOohhh ,... i finally STOOD up with pride
that man rocks my world :) from afar i glanced over at the security guard ..
he saw me ~*!!* By this time the show was near it's end ..
he winked :-) i smiled back and mouthed "thank you" .. he smiled
we rocked and rocked and sang and it was too cool :-) that is my journey story :-)
