In an interview with Classic Rock magazine (December 2010), Steve said he has written about 50 songs, no timescale on his return yet or when he will record the songs.

Once a year, on his birthday, he would send a message to his fans via Fan Asylum. In January last year Steve had a Q&A session where he answered some of the fans questions.

Interview with Steve on AP

Associated Press has an interview with Steve where he said that he’s recorded three cover songs recently, but would only disclose that one was a Beatles tune and that he has played his new music for just a few friends privately.
