I graduated in 1982 and remember hearing Journey songs on the radio and wanting to listen over and over. Like they were too good to be true. Now years later, I am able to appreciate the songs all over again but almost more than before.

Every couple of months I have a few friends get together and we watch a live concert from the 80′s. I have ordered Journey Live in Houston 1981 and can’t wait to preview it beforehand.

I am just another appreciator of Steve Perry’s voice and the bands incredible musical abilities/talents.

Hola Steve!!! en el mes de enero del 2010 fué cuando mi cuñada y mi hermano se pusierón a ver videos de los 80´y cuando buscarón los tuyos y los ví sentí algo mágico al verte , te explayas como un ser humano con tanta sensibilidad y proyectas tanto amor que eso es lo que te hace interpretar con esa voz angelical tu música , haces que a todo el que la escuche quede impresionado del gran artista que eres . Sólo quiero que sepas que yo ya había escuchado tú música en la época de los ochentas pero en ese entonces yo era sólo una niña de 11 años y desde enero del 2010 fué cuando ví tus videos no dígo que sólo quedé impactada , sino realmente enamorada de tí , y ahí fué cuando hasta la fecha sigo buscando toda la información tuya por el internet , también fuí a buscar tus cds tus dvd en las tiendas de música. Han transcurrido poco más de 4 meses y sólo escucho tu música yo tengo un pequeño negocio un salón de belleza dentro de mi casa y desde que amanece sólo se escucha tú música ya eres parte de la imagén de mi salón sólo al escucharte al momento de trabajar haces que cresca mi inspiración con mis creaciones en mis clientas y las mando muy felices por mi trabajo y por tú música con esa voz tan angelical que tienes se van total mente relajaditas. I was at the Concert in Oakland Day on the Green in 1982 bring back good and bad memories, but the music was always so good, Ive recently retired amyself at 46 looking forward to being in a Condo overlooking the SF Bay.
I hope you enjoy your retirement we all wish you were entertaining us, but you deserve to spend your days as you wish. I had always wanted to just say hi and shake your hand and say thank you for the music youll never be forgotten. When I listen 2 ur songs I go back n2 a time when I was young pretty and full of life. Time and being sick with no cure has a way of changin us all. I wish U health ,happiness and love. I grew up in the 80s and journey was everywhere even cried over a first love to a few songs. You were Journey with out you is like a sky without the sun.
Even met the band in 2000 on the Gateway Clipper Boats in Pgh. I believe they had a english guy singing with then.

Not good enough know one can sing faithfully. It is your song no comparison.

So please come out of retirement we miss you out here.

It’s weird how we don’t realize just how much the things from our youth impacts us until much later on. The song, “Mother, Father” came out the same year my parents split. That song helped my confused, impressionable, 8-year-old brain cope by showing it that even though families go thru storms, ultimately the ties of blood would prevail. I really took it to heart — put my faith in it all these years — and never let family matters get my panties in a twist because I believed our ties of blood were strong.

But all that’s being put to the most bitter test. I can’t hear the song now without tears. I feel like I believed it with all my heart, and after 28 years, I’m finding out that maybe it wasn’t the cure-all I thought it was. I still want to have faith in it, though — to believe for a happy ending. I ask that all who read this say a prayer for our family: that forgiveness and love will prevail over anger and bitterness.

I have wanted to hear Steve Perry sing live for most of my life, I’m now in my late 30′s. I thought my dream came true on three occasions and all three ticket purchases broke my heart, The first show cancelled for some reason, then re-scheduled, Then that show was when Journey broke up. The final attempt came after Trial by Fire, Thought I’d been extremely blessed scoring those third row seats….Only to see a different singer, He was good, But not who I wanted for most of my life to see, Steve has the best voice I have ever heard. No one has yet to even come close. That voice has a way of reaching my soul and I just love hearing him sing. I can’t begin to express the gratitude I feel for him sharing his voice all of these years. Much love sent his way.

a few years ago my wife and i came upon a box of old books and one of the books was a phone directory from1949 from hanford ca. for shit and giggles we looked up steve perrys parents and i will be damned if it wasnt there.it was printed in the summer of1949. i found it very interesting and not really sure what to do with it,, if it was my parents i would like to have it. this is the real thing and would like to make a gift to steve but how?if anybody has any suggestions how to about i would love to hear them. i just dont want the book 2 end up on e bay. if he wantsa it he can have it please if anybody knows let me know. thank you

I don’t know if you remember me but we went skiing together in Alta in UT. It was in 1986. I was wearing an all red ski suit and we got on the lift together and started chatting. We had some wine and cheese with several other people on the back of a mountain and skied through the trees a lot. I got too close to the edge of a rock ledge and fell over and I was hanging upside down with my pole at the bottom of the hole. You undid my skis and then jumped in and kissed me and it was such a romantic memory I still think about it sometimes. Anyway, how are you? What are you up to these days? Your music is and always will be awesome (and I don’t use that word lightly like usual today).

Bueno me estoy saliendo algo del tema jajaja, lo curioso es que cuándo yo soñé a mi madrecita todavía no se despertaba ésta enorme y bonita sensación , sino a los días siguientes fué cuándo empecé a observarte en tus videos y de los suaves movimientos de tus manos y de la suave expresión de tu rostro, fué algo así como estar viéndome a mí misma y de la necesidad de encontrar un amor sincero y que tenga el alma transparente para poder amarlo siempre me reflejaste tanto en tí que no sé por qué pero me proyectas toda tu sincera transparencia es como si yo misma me viera reflejada en el agua, desde ese entonces no paro de pedirle a DIOS antes de dormir que un día me lleve hacia tí y que te llene de salud y bendiciones y a mí junto a tu lado . y que todas las heridas y fracturas que han llevado nuestras almas sanen al momento que nos veamos por primera vez por que yo sé que cuándo se crucen nuestras miradas nuestras almas quedarán ancladas una a la otra vivo soñando despierta y no quisiera regresar a mi realidad. Hey Steve, I hope all is well and that you and your family are doing good. Man, I ‘ll tell you, like all these other posts, I’ll say you are far and away the best bro! Whether it’s with Journey or solo, your music is IT man!! Your music is the official music for me and my buddy. My older brother who died in 1986 and was a double amputee, loved Journey and everytime I hear “Only the Young” it makes me think of three things,: Being young, the movie “Vision Quest” and my older brother. Thank you for unknowingly contributing to my life and all these peoples lives. Your talent will resonate long after you’re gone and will be appreciated by my children. I missed the 80′s. I was a singer in a band too and I missed every stage performances that I did with the band back in the 80′s till 2000. You reminded me of those time. Wish I turn back the clock.
